Custom Fields of Filters
In addition to the category (or type) of document and various groups, at the request of our customers — a long time ago — we added Custom fields as an (optional) structural element within Knowlex. In concrete terms, this means that offices can apply filters themselves in various ways. For example, they can choose to filter by “legal domain”, “team” or “document date” depending on the CF chosen.
Bulk add CF to uploaded documents
Until recently, when users wanted to upload multiple documents at the same time, it was not possible to allocate Custom Fields on a large scale. Users had to manually enter the correct CF for each document. Especially when offices were just getting started with Knowlex — and therefore a lot of documents had to be uploaded — this process could take (too) much time.
However, our team has worked hard over the past period to optimize this function. As a result, it is now possible to upload up to 100 documents to Knowlex, and to assign a Custom Field to all these documents with one click.
Custom Fields receive special attention within your search screen
In addition, the most fanatical Knowlex users have undoubtedly noticed that some formal changes were made to Knowlex over the past week. In addition to removing less useful metadata — which can also still be found or elsewhere — the new view of the Custom Field immediately catches the eye when searching.
Thanks to this change, users can see at a glance which Custom Field is linked to the document in question. In addition to our common structural elements (category, groups, tags and description), a document's Custom Field or filter also has a visible (and central) place within the Knowlex screen.
MultiSelect Custom Fields: as (near) future music
In addition to the above changes, our team is working hard on an additional innovation, namely making one Custom Field multi-selectable. Concretely, thanks to this upgrade, a document could then be assigned to multiple areas of law or teams at the same time. With this final step, the Custom Fields could be fully adjusted to the office's preferences. We therefore hope to announce more news about this soon.
